Michael Henry Heim

Michael Henry Heim has translated dozens of novels, plays, and essays from a number of languages. His translations include The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, My Century and Peeling the Onion by Günter Grass, and Helping Verbs of the Heart by Péter Esterházy. He is a Professor of Slavic Language and Literatures and Comparative Literature at UCLA. Heim is the recipient of the American Literary Translators Association Prize, the PEN American Center West Translation Prize, and the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translation Prize. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
